Global IT Factory is excited to share that our university partner, Adelaide University (Australia) is presenting at the UCISA25 Leadership Conference (18-20 March, 2025) on Lessons from a University Merger in Australia: Putting Curriculum Management First.
Adelaide University, set to open in 2026, represents a historic merger between South Australia’s two largest universities—bringing together over 70,000 students and aiming to position itself as a global education and research powerhouse. As the first major new university in Australia in this century, its leadership recognised that curriculum management needed to be the foundation for its digital transformation.
When the University of Adelaide and the University of South Australia confirmed their merger in mid-2023, the first strategic action was to identify core technologies to support the new institution’s vision. Given the scale of integration and the development of a brand-new, contemporary curriculum, the decision was made to prioritise the implementation of a digital Curriculum Management System (CMS). This system was rapidly deployed to enable the University’s official web presence by its July 2024 launch milestone.
Clare Forde (Adelaide University)
Clare has 15 years’ experience in Australian Higher Education managing and supporting the design, approval and quality assurance of curriculum and related policies. She is currently Senior Project Manager for the implementation of a curriculum management system for the new Adelaide University that will open its doors in January 2026.
Professor Carol Miles (Adelaide University)
Carol leads the project implementing a new digitised curriculum management solution for the new Adelaide University. Previously Director of the University of Newcastle, Australia’s Centre for Teaching and Learning and Associate Vice-President Academic (Teaching and Learning) at Carleton University in Ottawa, Canada, Carol’s research interests include quality improvement in university curricula and constructive alignment in assessment strategies.
We’d love to discuss how curriculum management is shaping the future of higher education. Our team will be on-site throughout the event to connect, share insights, and answer any questions.
